Exeter Swimming Club have claimed more than 60 medals at the Devon Championships in Plymouth. The first two goal medals arrived in the 100m freestyle, with Liam White in the 16-and-over race and Milly Kendall in the 12-year-olds category proving successful. DJ Wooldridge picked up a first place in the 200m breaststroke, while Keiran Tallem came out on top in both the 50m backstroke and breaststroke races. However, it was the women's 200m backstroke which proved to be the most rewarding for Exeter. Megan Kennedy-Bruyneels (11) and Aliyah-Mai Webb (14) dominated their races to win comfortably. The most successful of all was the 12-year-old category, which saw Amelia Ashelford touch the wall a fraction ahead of Exeter teammates in silver and bronze. Golds also came courtesy of the women's 400m freestyle, where Kennedy-Bruyneels and Charlotte Emery (12) headed their age-groups. Emery also won gold in 200m fly, as did Rebbecca Gibbins (14) and Emily Eveling (13). There were three Exeter winners in the women's 200m IM – Keely Ware (10), competing in her first championships, Kennedy-Bruyneels and Webb. The girls' 100m backstroke produced another three Exeter golds, for Eveling (13), Olivia Annunziata (15), and Webb (14). Eveling and Kennedy-Bruyneels also managed to win gold medals in the 100m breaststroke.
