Jack Nowell says his two games playing in the centre for Exeter Chiefs have given him an extra weapon in his armoury.
The 21-year-old played in all five of England's Six Nations games last season as a winger.
He is back in the squad preparing for this season's championship, with England opening their campaign away to Wales on Friday, February 6.
And with competition fierce for places on the flanks, Nowell is happy to have added to his all-round knowledge in his club's final two European Challenge Cup group games.
Nowell fared better against Bayonne on Saturday than he had six days earlier against Connacht, and scored the only try of the first half before Exeter went on to record a 45-3 success.
"I said to the coaches that so long as I'm on the pitch I don't really care where I play," said Nowell.
"They said it's another thing to add to my game, if I play a few games at 13 I know what he's going to do so hopefully that's another weapon in my armoury now."
Although Nowell is currently with the England squad, his clubmates are preparing for back-to-back away games in the LV= Cup as they look to reach the semi-finals. And with some important league games on the horizon as well, the Exeter academy graduate hopes they can keep their form from the European games going.
"We've got to concentrate on the games ahead of us before we think about the quarter-final, and we've got two important LV= Cup games now," he said.
"Hopefully we can take the form from the last couple of weeks and get back on a winning sequence."
