A man has died following a collision in Exeter this afternoon.
Officers, along with paramedics, were called to the pedestrian crossing at Exhibition Way, Pinhoe at 2.30pm today, 27th January after reports that a pedestrian was seriously injured.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police said enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances of the death but police are investigating if he was in collision with a lorry.
The man has not been formally identified and his family are currently being traced.
The road is closed at Exhibition Way and Cumberland Way.
Traffic in the area is already congested due to the earlier collision on the M5.
Motorists are strongly advised to avoid the area as the road will be closed for several hours while collision investigators are at the scene.
