Exeter Braves demonstrated their imperious home form once again with a 33-10 victory over London Irish. A penalty try, plus scores from Chrysander Botha, Sam Simmonds, Greg Bateman and Jack Stanley ensured they took maximum points from the Monday night game. Welshman Ceri Sweeney converted four, with former Chief Myles Dorrian scoring all 10 of the visitors' points. It leaves the Braves in a promising position in the Southern Group, along with Saracens Storm. Namibian international Botha went over unopposed for the first try after fine work from Pat Phibbs, with Sweeney adding the extras. Simmonds scored the second after some superb footwork shown by Max Bodilly, only for No. 8 Sam Skinner to be sin-binned for a professional foul. Dorrian slotted a penalty late in the first half, with the Braves bringing on Brett Sturgess and Greg Bateman at the break. Those two combined well for a penalty-try at a scrum, only for Dorrian to respond with a converted score for the visitors. But young prop Stanley rounded off the win with a fine surge for the line to ensure a handsome victory for the hosts.
