A YACHTSMAN was rescued from his capsized craft off Lyme Bay on Tuesday morning after a massive overnight search.
He sent a VHF radio message shortly before 5pm on Monday saying he was at risk of capsizing.
Portland and Solent Coastguard helicopters, as well as a navy vessel and two lifeboats, began searching 37 miles south of the Needles.
The man was found with the upturned vessel at about 4am on Tuesday, 18 miles south of Portland.
Sea conditions on Monday night were described as rough with strong south-westerly winds.
