Kevin Hill was satisfied with a point against high-flying Ivybridge Town as Exmouth Town drew 1-1 on Saturday.
Despite having a man sent off early on in the game, Ivybridge took the lead through a penalty before Dan Boere equalised.
That left joint player-manager Hill pleased with a point, but frustrated his side could not capitalise on having an extra man.
He said: "From our point of view, the first half was very scrappy and it took us a while to get into it but obviously we got back into it in the second half.
"The lads stuck at their task and Ivybridge are third in the league, so it's a good point for us.
"They were down to 10 men so we'd have liked to have utilised the extra man a little better but obviously we couldn't.
"It's frustrating on our part but fair play to Ivybridge as they played well with 10 and we struggled in the first half."
Elsewhere, Cullompton Rangers player-manager Dan Kenyon was pleased with the character his side showed in their 2-0 win at home against Torpoint Athletic.
After last weekend's heavy defeat against Plymouth Parkway, Kenyon called on his players to bounce back and they did exactly that thanks to an overhead kick from captain Lloyd Beech and an own goal.
Kenyon said: "It was a thoroughly deserved win. We played exceptionally well. It makes a nice change from last week.
"It's good to bounce back with a win. We've got a tough run of fixtures in the closing stages of the season, so it's good to get a win. We've got to win all the ones we can, really."
"It was a good goal," Kenyon said of Beech's strike. "It took us a little while to score, as we had the chances but didn't convert them. It was good for Lloyd to score."Witheridge beat Newquay 3-1, with Jordan Charran, Mark Humphreys and Kyle Bassett netting.
