Hockey: Late goals condemn Isca to defeat against Trojans

The Exeter side started strongly and opened the scoring through Nat Capel, but Trojans managed to get an equaliser. After some strong passing, Katie Taverner scored a second goal for Isca. Exe have the chance to go top this weekend when they play their game in hand against Taunton. Lydney started well and, despite Exe opening the scoring through Laura Allen on 15 minutes, they were level at the break. Exe's second-half breakthrough came courtesy of captain Kelly Barrett and they managed to add four more goals in the last 10 minutes as the visitors tired. She narrowly missed the target in a first half where both sides produced some strong attacking play. Fion Barham had to make a couple of diving saves as Taunton reacted with a quick break and fast passes, and got their goal with 10 minutes left.
