Former Exeter City midfielder Matt Grimes played his first game in a Swansea City shirt last night for the club's under-21 side.
Grimes, who was sold to Swansea for £1.75m at the start of the month, helped set up the winning goal for Kenji Gorre in a 2-1 victory over Queen's Park Rangers under-21s.
Speaking about the match, Grimes said: "I was really looking forward to the game and getting 90 minutes under my belt.
"It's been a month since I last played and there's nothing better than playing competitive football.
"The manager (Chris Llewellyn) told us that we needed the three points to go back to the top of the league, and we're delighted to have got the win. We like to keep the ball, press high and that's exactly how it went."
He added: "I'm really enjoying it here so far. There was a lot to take in at first with the intensity of training and the extra gym work, but my body is getting used to it and I can't wait to push on."
Grimes will hope his performance will have caught the eye of first team manager Garry Monk and put him in contention for a place in their televised clash at Southampton on Sunday.
