A GAY couple who shared a kiss in a Devon pub were reportedly told by the landlord to "get out" and that their behaviour was "revolting".
Darren Barnett, 22, and his boyfriend Dylan Morris, 20, say they were told to leave the St Levan Inn, in Devonport, if they carried on kissing.
But landlord Paul Bodenham, 66, said he is not homophobic and would have told a straight couple the same thing.
The pair, who were celebrating Dylan's birthday with a big group of family and friends, said they were really confused by the landlord's comments.
Darren, who lives in London and travels to see Plymouth law student boyfriend Dylan said: "We were there for a few hours and everyone was having a great time when Dylan and I shared a kiss at the bar.
"This man just shouted 'if you two want to continue doing that kind of stuff get out my bar'.
"The whole pub went quiet and we asked him what he meant and he said he doesn't like that kind of behaviour. He it was revolting.
"We were really taken aback by the kind of language he was using. I said it was discriminatory and against the law, but he shouted to the barman to not serve us."
Darren added that he has never been discriminated against because of his sexuality before, and said the experience was "awful".
Darren says he has reported the incident to Plymouth City Council for breach of license.
"We weren't the only gay people in there and they were so angry," Darren added.
Paul, who has been a landlord for 30 years, said he told the men to go outside because of the way they were acting in the pub.
He said the couple were French kissing and all over each other - but that he is not homophobic.
He said: "I have never seen behaviour like theirs on Friday night, I would have said exactly the same to a man and a woman.
"I didn't even ask them to leave, I said if they wanted to carry on doing that they would need to go outside."
