An amazing time-lapse video of Dartmoor has captured all the four seasons in just eight minutes. Dartmoor Time-Lapse, produced by photographers Alex Nail and Guy Richardson, squeezes in a whole year of the Devon scenery, including sunsets, waterfalls and a silvery moon disappearing behind Brent Tor. The video is freely available to watch, but won't be for much longer because of contractual problems with the music. he two photographers, who used special cameras set on mobile mounts to capture 100s of hours of images that were rendered into just seconds of viewing time – say they will not be repeating the exercise any time soon, simply because of the time it took to capture the stunning views. "We spent literally hundreds and hundreds of hours out on the moors – and it would be difficult for me to do it again as I am also an engineer working in Bristol," Alex told The Western Morning News. "It really was a work of love," adds Guy, who is a professional photographer from Exeter. "It's not so difficult for me to get up on the moors because I work near Bovey Tracey – but it does take so much time and time-lapse photography is so dependent on the weather. "One shot can take hours – for example, you might be photographing bluebells in spring when a wind suddenly starts to blow. That would be hopeless because, with time-lapse, the whole carpet of bluebells would end up looking like just one big blue blur." DNPA visitor services manager Richard Drysdale added: "The film follows a year on Dartmoor, beginning with the fresh flowers of spring then onto the vibrant greens of summer – through the storms in autumn and ending with frost and snow across the high moorland." "Both Alex and Guy spent countless hours on the moorland scoping out new locations, camping out overnight all to capture the landscape of Dartmoor like it's never been seen before."
