Exeter police are asking for the public's help following a vicious assault on New Year's Eve.
A man was left with serious facial injuries after being repeatedly hit in the face in the attack on Isleworth Road, Exeter between the hours of Midnight and 1am on New Year's Day.
Police said two men had left a New Year's Eve party and made their way along the road when they were approached by two unknown men who attacked them.
One of the injured males was struck repeatedly in the face and as a result has been left with a fractured eye socket requiring lengthy Hospital treatment and the likelihood of surgery to repair the damage.
The Police are appealing for any person who may have witnessed the attack or who has any information to come forward and provide details to try and identify the persons responsible for this unprovoked and vicious attack.
