Firefighters were called to a house in Honiton to deal with a chimney fire.
They were called at around 7.30pm on Saturday to the property at Marsh, Honiton.
One appliance from Chard was mobilised following a report to the Fire Service Control Room of a chimney fire.
A spokesman said: "On arrival at scene crews confirmed a chimney fire and got to work from the grate with hearth equipment.
"One chimney fire extinguished using small tools and chimney gear."
