Police are asking parents to remain vigilant after two potential abductors were spotted approaching children outside schools across Exeter.
The force confirmed they are aware of a number of concerns about men approaching children.
Two men in a white van have been seen outside several primary schools in the city and have been reported to the police.
Police confirmed they have been made aware of two separate reports, one in Exminster and one in Alphington earlier this month. On each occasion the child was approached and spoken to.
No child was harmed in the incidents
The reports have prompted teachers to issue a warning about the potential threat and advising parents and staff to be aware and take extra precautions.
A letter, which has been sent out to parents and carers, states that approaches have already been made to children at primary schools in Exminster, Ide and Alphington.
It reads: "Last week outside Exminster Primary School we understand that a child was approached by two men in a white van.
"Since then we also understand that children from Ide and Alphington were also approached in the same way.
"Staff have spoken with the school crossing patrol to make sure she is aware of this and can look out for any potential danger/risk."
A representative of Devon and Cornwall police said:
"It is right for parents to be vigilant of any suspicious activity and to report their concerns to police on either 101 or in an emergency 999.
"We would also advise parents to remind their children about stranger danger but it is important to stress that no crimes have taken place. "
