A driver has admitted causing the death of a teenage motorcyclist who was killed in an accident on his way home from work. Keith Darwell, 38, admitted causing the death of 19-year-old Gregory Taylor on Kings Ash Road in Paignton on August 4 this year when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court. The prosecution accepted Darwell's plea of not guilty to the more serious charge of causing death by dangerous driving. Darwell, of Trelissick Road, Paignton, admitted causing death by careless driving and causing death while driving without insurance and his case was adjourned for pre-sentence reports by Judge Francis Gilbert QC. Motorcyclist Mr Taylor, from Buckfastleigh, died after an accident which happened on only his fourth trip on a new bike. He was on his way from Dartington Hall, where he worked, to his home to play computer games with friends when he was hit by a Volkswagen Golf driven by Darwell. The driver will be sentenced next month.
