A MAN has become the second person in as many days to die following a crash on the A38 near Plymouth, after colliding with a stationary vehicle early this morning.
Police said the vehicle - thought to be a Land Rover - was involved in the smash at Saltash at around 7am.
The man, said to be from the local area, was taken to Plymouth's Derriford Hospital where he later died.
The tragic smash happened near the Carkeel Roundabout and has left a stretch of the A38 to Stoketon Cross closed for several hours.
Devon and Cornwall police said the casualty, who was described as middle-aged, was the only occupant of the car.
Police are still at the scene carrying out investigation work.
The A38 eastbound has reopened but the westbound road remains closed at this time.
