East meets West next weekend when two local chefs get together to create a unique culinary experience.
Street food has become a popular feature of the Devon foodie scene in recent years, and diners in East Devon are getting the chance to enjoy this relaxed dining experience, too.
Chef Robin Rea of the award-winning Rusty Pig and popular Gujarati cuisine expert 'Samosa Lady' Tina Chauhan will be cooking up a storm to create six courses of authentic Indian street food dishes - with a twist.
"We're aiming to do something a little different, creating a fusion that encompasses the best of English, Indian and Chinese tastes," explained Robin. Tina added, "Diners may bite into what they assume is a typical Indian masala dosa and find they've got an unexpected taste of the Orient!"
Tina recently announced she is to open her own shop in Ottery later this year - an Indian deli *** restaurant selling all the ingredients needed to create an authentic curry as well as Tina's own prepared curries and samosas.
"It's great to be supported by other local chefs," Tina said. "Robin in particular has encouraged me to take my business to the next stage," Tina said. "I'm really looking forward to partnering him next weekend to produce some fabulous street food!"
