AS revealed in the Echo last week Marston's Inns and Taverns is hoping to build a new pub/restaurant in Pinhoe Road, opposite Aldi.
The pub, if approved, would bring around 40 jobs for the area.
It would cater for up to 180 diners at a time.
Laura Barnes from Marston's Inns and Taverns estates office told Community News: "We're extremely excited about the possibility of building our latest pub in Exeter.
"If planning is successful, we hope it will build a great reputation locally, offering top quality pub food and an unrivalled selection of cask beers from across the country."
Until the application is approved, no recruitment will be taking place. However, full details of how to apply for any positions will be released as soon as possible.
Marston's Inns and Taverns says it has an ongoing new build programme to provide quality pubs throughout the UK.
