England skipper Steven Gerrard has announced his retirement from international football.
The news has been released in the last few minutes via a statement from the Football Association and brings to an end a record 114 cap career.
Gerrard is taking the decision in a bid to prolong his club career with Liverpool and it had been widely expected following England's disappointing World Cup performance.
