Emergency services called to early morning rescue in Exmouth after cries of help heard on the Exe Estuary

Emergency services were called out to a dramatic rescue in Exmouth in the early hours of Sunday morning. Coastguard, RNLI, police and ambulance were all called to thee Exe Estuary near to the entrance to Exmouth Marina at 04:56am after cries fro help were heard by members of the public. Multiple 999 calls were made. After a short search crews recovered a male who had fallen from his Kayak and although he had self recovered, his kayak had taken on water and he was showing signs of hypothermia. Exmouth coastguard said thee man was landed at Exmouth Marina and assisted by Exmouth Coastguard and Police. He was later taken to hospital by Ambulance as a precaution.
