Exmouth Coastguards were called out to the water off Sandy Bay in Exmouth yesterday after concerns were raised over a boy in an inflatable dinghy.
Crews were called at 13:56 after members of the public expressed fears to the station officer about the young boy in a toy boat.
On arrival, the Exmouth coastguard team discussed the details with RNLI Lifeguards who confirmed that the 10yr old was now safe ashore with his parent.
Lifeguards had already discussed their concern with the parent but we were asked to back up their concerns and give suitable safety advice due to the offshore winds and outgoing tide.
