AN Exeter man has been charged with animal cruelty after a dog was hanged.
Paul Brown, 52, of Okehampton Road, St Thomas, is scheduled to appear alongside two co-defendants at Salisbury Magistrates' Court on Monday, July 14 for a first hearing.
He is charged that on or about 18th January 2014 he, jointly with others, caused unnecessary suffering to a protected animal, namely a collie type dog known as Shandy, by hanging it.
The two other defendants that are charged with the same offence are Veronica Reid, 42, of Woolpack Meadows, Trowbridge, Wiltshire and Jon Allen, 26, of Kingsland Road, St Philips, Bristol.
