Crews were called to Cullompton last night after an oil tank containing 1,000 litres of oil sprung a leak.
A Fire Engine from Cullompton was sent to Willand after a report of a leaking domestic heating oil tank containing 1,000 litres of oil.
On arrival the crew requested specialist equipment to aid them with stemming the leak, this equipment was sent on an Environmental Protection Unit from South Molton.
At 22:39 the crew managed to stop the leak using a specialist piece of equipment to strap up the oil tank to secure it.
Approximately 200 litres of heating oil had been spilt onto a grass area.
