A desperate dog owner who survived cancer is renewing her appeal for information about her pet Rooney - two years after he went missing. The Manchester terrier went missing in Haldon Forest, near Exeter, in November 2011, after it was scared by another dog. Despite an extensive search there has been no trace of the dog. Rooney, five, is microchipped and was wearing a collar. He is black and tan and resembles a small Doberman. Jacky said she had an operation on her face for cancer and had also been in hospital following a heart attack just before the dog went missing. She had driven with a friend from Plymouth to Harkham woods near Exeter racecourse. Rooney, who has suffered kidney and liver problems, and her other dog Louie, became scared and ran off. Rooney never returned. A frantic search began, notices were put in shops and she even contacted the police, but no avail. Jacky said: "I put a £500 reward up for any information on my dog, friends and family and a good friend with a Manchester terrier put the money up for me." Rooney is chipped and neutered, he is bigger than a Jack Russell but smaller than a Staffie, he has two tan circles on his feet, called thumb prints. Manchesters are rare dogs. "All I can say to ever has him, imagine what I've gone through, I've been at the lowest of lows, cried a million times, the stress hasn't helped me, I've never drank or smoked in my life, I wouldn't hurt anyone, yet I'm left hoping, praying someone will have a heart and contact me or the police," said Jacky. "After two years of missing my beloved dog, I can't tell you how sad I feel. "Thank you to the hundreds of people looking and keeping in contact. I can't do much myself, but the kindness shown by so many has helped me through some very down sad days, god bless you all." If anyone has information they can call police 101 with crime number JC/12/6 or Jacky on 01752 309811.
