Cowley Church on the outskirts of Exeter is for sale with a price tag of £150,000.
The Grade II listed building is on the main road between Exeter and Crediton, and was last used as a church in September 2011.
The decision to close the church was made by the Newton St Cyres Parochial Church Council which decided the building was surplus to requirements.
Julia Dallen, correct assistant curate for the Netherexe parishes, said: "Many of the congregation have now either died or moved away and there were very few remaining. Most of the congregation travelled into the parish to attend services.
"The church had supported a mothers' union, a choir, a Sunday school and had a full congregation.
"A meeting was held at Upton Pyne with the Archdeacon of Exeter, and it was agreed that the time had come to close this lovely church.
"The whole church community had a final farewell party to celebrate all that this little church had been to the local community throughout its time as a place of worship."
The remaining congregation now worships at other churches within the area.
The Church of St Antony was built around the 1850s by the owner of Cowley Place to accommodate his household of family, domestic staff and estate workers.
The part of the churchyard in which burials have taken place remains consecrated land and its future is separate from the future of the building. There are no plans to change the appearance of that part of the churchyard in the near future.
A spokeswoman for the Diocese of Exeter said the property is advertised for commercial, business or educational use.
