A lamb born with a disfigured face is adapting well to life with his 'challenging' looks, say his owners.
The two-week old, dubbed Elvis because of his droopy lip, was born on a small, non-working farm in Cadbury, near Exeter.
The loving owners said they initially thought his disfigurement was only blood when he was pulled from his mother's womb.
"When he was first born we thought he had blood down the front of his face that his mum hadn't cleaned off properly. We soon realised it was more worrying than that," said owner Jill.
The 'blood' turned out to be a raw patch right down the front of his face, which is now healing well.
He also has an 'Elvis' lip on one side of his mouth and just one nostril on the other.
His 'Elvis' lip has remained and Jill says his one and only nostril seems to be enough to keep him alive.
And despite his very unusual appearance, he is thriving, and mixing with the other lambs.
"He gallops round the field with all our other lambs and despite sounding rather wheezy, he seems to be very healthy."
"We have named him Elvis for very obvious reasons but someone more unkind may call him the 'Elephant lamb' because of his 'challenging' appearance and popping out eyes," Jill added.
The family say they have seven ewes lambing this spring and have never seen anything like this before.
"Our vet says he doesn't think this is an example of Schmallenberg disease but that Elvis's face was stuck to the inside of the womb and then got torn off when he was born."
The lamb is putting on weight and Jill says he's becoming a very cheeky, feisty little character.
"His mother is very protective, and she'll scare off the other lambs if they start picking on him."
"The other lambs don't treat him any differently and they all love running and jumping around the hay bales together."
