SCHOOLS around Mid Devon are shut or are closing early because of heavy snowfall in the district.
Accidents on the road network and issues with school coaches being cancelled because of the conditions are expected to add to difficulties.
Uffculme School closed at midday, with children who use Spearings buses collected at 12.15pm.
All Redwood coaches to the school have been cancelled, as have Forward Travel coaches.
Parents were urged to exercise caution when travelling to the school to collect children.
Nearby Willand School is to close at 2pm. All after-school clubs are cancelled and a PTFA meeting postponed.
Burlescombe COE Primary School did not open for the day.
Update: Cullompton Community College is to close at 2pm, buses at 1.45pm. Tiverton High School has also closed and parents are advised to collect their children.
