A lover of fine food given an ASBO banning him from every restaurant in Britain, after he kept leaving without paying, has breached his order – for the 14th time.

Christopher Travis, 53, has chalked up more than 80 convictions for dining at top eateries around the UK – then refusing to pay for the meal.

In 2010 he was given an ASBO banning him from every restaurant in the country but he breached it with a trip to celebrity chef Michael Caines' Royal Clarence Hotel.

On his night out at the Michelin-starred restaurant in Devon, he ate a three-course meal then said he didn't have any money – and was later jailed. During the trial his defence team admitted he has expensive tastes and "doesn't choose the bottom end of the scale when targeting his restaurants".

He was later released from prison but has now breached his ASBO for the 14th time at Lorenzos in Plymouth, a court heard.

He enjoyed a main course of tapas and a bottle of wine – then told staff he couldn't pay the £20 bill, Plymouth Magistrates' Court heard. Travis, of Exeter, admitted fraud by misrepresentation and breaching a 2010 ASBO. He will be sentenced on February 15.
