ONE of Exeter's busiest rat runs is to be closed for three weeks.
Chancel Lane will be closed between Venny Bridge and Thursby Walk between March 12 and April 2 to allow work to make the road safer for pedestrians to be carried out.
The scheme includes new sections of pavement and crossing points for pedestrians as well as a new width restriction over the bridge which will be enforced by building out the kerbs to slow vehicles by making them give way.
Access for pedestrians will be maintained throughout.
The start day for the improvement works is March 2.
