Exeter City were knocked out of the FA Women's Premier League Plate competition at the quarter-final stage by West Ham United.
Julian Dicks' Hammers took the lead in the 21st minute with a shot into the top-left corner of the goal.
Exeter responded well and levelled through a Kirsty Caunter penalty after Vicky Barter was upended in the penalty box.
However, with half-time approaching, West Ham scored two quick goals which would eventually seal the match.
Next Sunday Exeter are back to league action with a home game against Larkhall. Kick-off is at 2pm at St Martins, Exminster.
Exeter University suffered a heavy 11-2 defeat away to Activiate in the Women's Football League.
Harriet Kelly and Kirstin McGregor were on target for the Students.
