A dozen fire appliances have been sent to a large blaze at a thatched property near Ide.
The fire broke out this morning.
Smoke can be seen across a wide area.
Balls Farm Road is understood to be closed from Little John's Cross Hill.
A spokesman for the Fire Service said: "Twelve fire appliances are attending a thatch fire in Little John Cross, Ide. "Firefighters are tacking the blaze and salvaging property from inside."
