Crews were called to Budliegh Salterton yesterday evening after reports of a fire in the region.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue received a call reporting a fire in a cupboard on Thornton Close at 16:57.
The occupiers were advised by the fire service to evacuate the property and Fire engines from Budleigh Salterton and Exmouth were sent to the address.
On arrival of the first appliance, the Officer in charge confirmed there was a fire in a cupboard, two fire fighters used breathing apparatus, a hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to confirm the fire was out.
Once the Officer in charge had confirmed the fire was out, positive pressure ventilation was used to clear the property of smoke.
The cause of the fire was accidental and crews left the scene safe.
