A seemingly fake Odeon Instagram account has appeared to have tricked 50,000 followers in an online ticket give-away competition.
An account on the social media platform was set up for @OfficialOdeon that seems to be too good to be true.
The account claimed to be giving away a ticket to see six films for its first 50,000 followers however the cinema company has since said it does not have an official Instagram account.
Many seemed fooled by the competition however some took to Twitter to check with the company.
Replying to one query @OdeonHelp confirmed that they don't have an official Instagram page:
@marlowwinter We don't have an official Instagram page

Others took to Twitter to point out the 'fake' competition:To those following the Odeon Instagram account, remember if it's too good to be true, it probably is http://t.co/sfivRfhFYL
