Police have confirmed that a man who was found dead in city public toilets yesterday morning, is a local man in his 60s. A police spokesperson confirmed last night that his next-of-kin have not yet been informed and no formal identification had taken place. Officers said they cannot confirm for certain if he was of no fixed abode, but it is understood he was homeless. The spokesperson confirmed that his death was not thought to be drugs related and is not being treated as suspicious. Police and ambulance were called to King William Street public toilets at around 9.50am on Friday, January 2. It is understood the man was found by a toilet supervisor. A spokesperson for South West Ambulance Service said that paramedics performed CPR on the man at the scene but were unable to revive him. He was taken away by ambulance. Following the news, Exeter city centre PCSO Sarah Giles tweeted: "Sad times, the homeless chap who was my first ever name check has been found dead. Winter is the worst time to be homeless #Exeter #Police"
