A former pupil has told a jury how a sports teacher at a Devon school had sex with her in a gym store while she was just 15 and wearing uniform.
The woman, who is now in her 30s and has a child of her own, said the PE teacher started kissing her inside the darkened store after taking her into the sports hall at school.
She described how they were surrounded by kit including a vaulting horse, crash mats, netball rings and football nets as he kissed her and lifted her onto him.
Former teacher Paul Cole, 45, is on trial at Exeter Crown Court accused of sexual assaults on two 15-year-old girls in the 1990s.
The prosecution say that at the time he was a fit young teacher who looked like pop star Gary Barlow and exploited the innocence of young female pupils who developed crushes on him.
They allege he had sex with two 15-year-olds in the school gym store and had relationships with two other girls who had already turned 16.
Cole, of Franklyn Drive, Exeter, who went on to teach in Crediton and Exeter but who is no longer in the profession, denies seven counts of indecent assault on two girls in the 1990s.
He says the women have made up the allegations and the lay-out of the school and the timetable mean it was impossible for them to have been alone with him in the store room.
One of the girls said she was 15 and fancied the teacher but was uneasy and nervous when he locked her in the sports hall and took her to a large room where equipment was stored.
She said: "There was a lot of equipment all around us with netball posts along the wall and goalposts with nets. There were crash mats on the floor and gym horse which could be raised or lowered by adding segments.
"There were lights in the room but when we had the sexual encounter they were off. The sports hall itself was locked but the room was not.
"He pushed me against the door and we started kissing. I thought it was just going to be kissing but he broke the zip on my trousers. He was trying to pull it down and I think it got caught. He was not using excessive force on it.
"He put his hand down my knickers and touched me. I can't remember how many fingers it was. It is hard to say how long that lasted, maybe 30 seconds.
"The whole thing did not take long because he was worried about being caught. He wasn't saying anything. We were kissing. I wasn't scared, but I was nervous. It was all happening really, really quick and it was a bit out of my control.
"I did not push him away. I just stood there trying to absorb it all. I was in uniform black trousers and he was in blue tracksuit bottoms."
She said she continued seeing him after the encounter and on one occasion he took her to a party where he introduced her as his girlfriend and told the other guests she was 18.
The woman said she had made no complaint to the police at the time but had done so recently when she realised what had happened was wrong.
