THERE are 330 children waiting to be adopted in the South West, according to new figures.
New figures released by the Department for Education revealed that there are 330 children waiting to be adopted in the South West.
This is despite First4Adoption – the national adoption information service for England – recently announcing that a quarter of a million people used the service since it launched in January 2013.
First4Adoption was set up to create greater transparency around the adoption process and to give impartial information to people interested in adopting in England.
Children and families minister Edward Timpson, who has two adopted brothers, said: "It's great news to see this important campaign getting off the ground as direct result of the Government's investment.
"With thousands of children across the country still waiting for a loving home it's vital we continue to do all we can to recruit new parents who can meet their needs through adoption."
