Following the driest September on record for the UK and a fine first few days of October, Devon now looks well into Autumn.
Forecasters at the Exeter-based Met Office have said showers are likely to continue tonight with the chances of thunder.
A representative said: "Showers will continue in the west, occasionally heavy and perhaps with thunder. Clearer spells at first elsewhere, with localised mist or fog patches. However showers then spread northeastwards, merging into a more persistent band of rain during the early hours, Minimum Temperature 6C."
Tomorrow will be windy, with a mixture of sunshine and showers, perhaps turning heavy and thundery at times. Drier with more prolonged sunny spells later,
A weather warning was in place for Devon this morning as strong wind and rain hit the region. A warning has not been put in place for tomorrow but forecasters have warned of the chance of heavy rain and thunder.
