Goals from Danny Coles and Scott Bennett have given Exeter City a 2-0 lead at half-time against Barmet at St James's Park.
Exeter City manager Paul Tisdale sprung a surprise by dropping leading scorer Jamie Cureton to the bench naming Jimmy Keohane in the starting line up.
However, City began much the better side, pressing the ball high up the pitch and creating chances. Keohane and Matt Oakley both missed good chances to score before Danny Coles planted a 35th-minute header past Graham Stack from an Alan Gow corner.
Ten minutes later it was 2-0. Sercombe's corner was swung into the box and Coles headed goalwards. His effort was blocked, but Bennett was in the right place to stab home his third goal of the season.
Barnet's first half performance was poor as they struggled to cope with the home side's energy. The closest the came to scoring was when Andy Iro's close range shot was blocked by the legs of Krysiak following a corner.
