A 19-year-old man has admitted that he took pot shots at several shoppers with an air rifle, hitting one of them on the shoulder at a hearing at Exeter Crown Court.
The teenager, Joshua Claxton, of Hamlin Gardens, shot at passers-by from the first floor of the Hennis Project homeless shelter in Saint Sidwells Court, King William Street.
According to BBC Devon, Joshua Claxton told police he had been shooting at strangers to "shake them up a bit and freak them out" but thought his aim was so bad he was bound to miss.
Alan Tozer, the shopper hit by one of Joshua Claxton's shots, reported feling a sharp pain on the shoulder and had suffered from breaking and reddening of the skin and bruising.
Joshua Claxton was given a three month curfew and ordered to attend an alcohol course. They are both part of a 12 month supervision order.
