Emergency services were called to the A38 at Haldon Hill today after a vehicle caught fire on the carriageway.
Two fire appliances, one from Middlemoor and one from Danes Castle were sent to reports of a coach on fire on the A38 at 11:48am today.
On arrival crews found a small fire in the engine compartment caused by a blown engine. Crews used a hose reel jet and small tools to extinguish the fire.
The road was blocked Exeter bound at because of the fire next to the racecourse.
