Exeter City academy players Max Smallcombe and Ethan Ampadu have been called up to the Wales under-16 squad for their friendly internationals against France this week.
Smallcombe stepped up to the under-16 level at City's academy this season, but Ampadu has just entered the under-14 level and therefore will be playing against players up to 21 months older than him when he meets up with the Wales squad.
Wales under-16s will play two fixtures against France under-16s, on Tuesday, September 23, and Thursday, September 25. Both games will take place at the FAW's National Football Development Centre at Dragon Park, Newport.
