Seven cars were damaged by a fire at a city centre car park in Exeter. Flames engulfed a silver Vauxhall at the Magdalen Street car park at the junction of Western Way and South Street yesterday. Six other vehicles were also damaged in the blaze. No-one is reported to have been injured in the incident.
The fire service was alerted to the incident – which is understood to have started accidentally – by a member of the public at about 11am yesterday morning. A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said the fire was not being treated as suspicious.
