FLORAL tributes have been left at a crash site in Exeter following the death of a 12-year-old boy. The boy, who has not yet been formally identified, was pronounced dead at the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital following a collision with a lorry just after 3pm yesterday. Members of the public rushed to the boy's aid before paramedics took over. Investigations continue into the cause of the collision. The driver of the lorry was suffering from shock but police have confirmed he has not been arrested. Several flowers have already been placed on the scene of the pedestrian crossing. Among the tributes left were: "The little lad with the biggest cheesiest smile. Taken far too soon. RIP Little Fella." Those who witnessed the crash praised the actions of one of the boy's friends and members of the public who tried to save him. One said: "This was by far the most heartbreaking thing I have ever witnessed. I prayed all afternoon that the poor boy involved would be okay. "My heart goes out to all his friends and family, especially the boy he was with who acted so quickly. What an amazing friend."
