Exeter City Supporters' Trust is to have more members on the club's board. A joint statement was released on Thursday, from the club and supporters' trust, which revealed that the trust's now has more of a say in the boardroom at St James' Park. The brief statement read: "Consensus has been reached around the new structure of the club board. "The board membership will comprise half and half between Exeter City Supporters' Trust and Exeter City Football Club. "A group of Trust and club directors will now work to finalise the detail of the new structure. Once the new-look board is in place, one of its first jobs will be to commence the process of appointing a club chairman." It has been a summer of strife off the field at St James' Park, where the Trust wields power as the club's majority shareholder. Edward Chorlton stepped down as chairman of the football club in July, when he was facing a vote of no-confidence in him by the Trust. Guy Wolfenden, the football club's chief executive, was the next to go earlier this month, less than a year after accepting the job. Roger Conway, who was club secretary and a director of the football club (representing the Trust) also left his roles at St James' Park. He was deposed by the trust, after being accused of breaking Trust rules regarding a financial loan he had offered to the club. The discord behind the scenes has not helped City on the pitch. They have just emerged from a transfer embargo, imposed after they took out a loan from the Professional Footballers' Association in May to pay players' wages.
