A 14-YEAR-OLD boy suffered a suspected broken arm after falling 20 metres down a gorge this afternoon.
The teenager fell into water at the bottom of Lydford Gorge at about 2.20pm.
Paramedics and fire crews attended the scene in Okehampton and the boy was removed from the gorge and airlifted to hospital.
A spokesman for Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue said: "Crews arrived on scene and got to work proceeding to the gorge on foot. The casualty had fallen 20 metres and had a suspected broken arm and leg injuries.
"he boy had fallen into water and was removed from the water prior to mobilising the appliances. Crews assisted ambulance service to get the boy from the gorge to the air ambulance."
