Exeter Harrier Jo Pavey missed out on a second medal in the European Championships after finishing seventh in the 5,000m this afternoon.
The 40-year-old, who won gold in the 10,000m in Zurich on Tuesday evening, did not have enough left in the tank to challenge in a fast last lap.
She was in the mix all the way around the 12.5-lap race but was left trailing as Sweden's Meraf Bahta went on to win in 15mins 31.39secs.
Pavey crossed the line in 15.38.41, but could reflect on an impressive display at the championships two weeks after winning bronze in the Commonwealth Games over 5,000m.
