Exeter-based Ashwoods Lightfoot Ltd has signed a new deal with a Spanish distributor for its fuel-saving technology.
Since its launch in 2013, the in-cab driver efficiency system has taken the UK fleet market by storm.
Now it will be supplied to van owners in Spain by Disvent Ingenieros, a well-established supplier of satellite communication systems and other electronic equipment to the Spanish marine industry.
José Sánchez, of Disvent Ingenieros, said: "We were very excited to discover Lightfoot. It is a truly unique and clever product and we anticipate that it will be very appealing to the Spanish fleet market.
"We have completed our translation of the Lightfoot website into Spanish and we are now contacting all companies across Spain that own large fleets. We have plenty of units ready in stock and the team at Ashwoods are providing us with training on how to fit the system so that we can manage everything ourselves here in Spain."
Mark Roberts, managing director of Ashwoods Lightfoot, said: "We are thrilled to be working with Disvent Ingenieros. It's great seeing Lightfoot bringing tangible benefits to more and more of the UK's largest and most innovative fleets and we're continuing to sign new companies up for trial each month. We are ambitious about extending our reach into Europe and with Disvent Ingenieros on board Spain is an exciting first step."
Keen to expand their portfolio, Disvent Ingenieros had been on the hunt in Europe for an innovative driver behaviour product for fleets which they could market in Spain.
Lightfoot provides real-time visual and audible training, whilst also providing fleet managers with a weekly report containing at-a-glance insights into fleet performance and fuel and CO2 savings.
Operational since 1985, Disvent Ingenieros is well-placed to pitch Lightfoot to the Spanish fleet market and the company is confident that Lightfoot's unique time, cost, fuel, accident and CO2 saving functionality will prove attractive to fleet managers across Spain.
