With Exeter City's season starting a week tomorrow many fans will be considering a trip to the bookies to place a wager on the mighty Grecians.
With that in mind we have a look at odds for Exeter this season…… and they for pretty grim reading.Odds from www.oddschecker.comTo be relegated
It would seem the powers that be aren't too confident of City's chances this year hinting that we may join our friends in Torquay next season. Tisdale's side are second favourites to go down with odds as low as 9/2 with Bet 365. Others are a little kinder with 6/1 at William Hill. The only team more likely to drop, according to the site, is Morecambe at 7/2. Others included at the bottom are Accrington and Wycombe. To be promoted
Unsurprisingly with the odds being so low for City to be relegated there are high odds for the team to go up. Betfred are offering it at 20/1 and Totesport 10/1. At 7/4 Bury are the current favourites followed by Luton and Porstmouth. Local rivals Plymouth are ninth favourites with 4/1 odds on promotion.Top Scorer
A problem Exeter has faced since the departure of Cureton is a constant goal scorer, something that is reflected in the odds. Exeter has only one player in the long list of top goal scorers for League 2 with Tom Nichols at 66/1. Bury's Ryan Lowe is favourite at 12/1, followed by Plymouth's Reuben Reid at 14/1. Ladbrokes have Cureton at 33/1 for top scorer. And last and least… To win the league
Bizarrely, considering the odds for Exeter to be promoted, the team would appear the least likely to win the league with odds of 161/1 with Betfair – just below Accrington at 151/1. Plymouth are seventh favourites to win it….. but who listens to the bookies anyway.
