A man from the South Hams has appeared at Exeter Crown Court accused of murdering a 17-year-old football player at a taxi rank. Lee Dent was remanded in custody by Judge Francis Gilbert, QC, who set a timetable for the progress of the case and a date of October 20 for the next hearing, where Dent will be expected to enter a plea. Dent, aged 42, of Cross Lane, East Portlemouth, near Kingsbridge, is accused of the murder of Plymouth Argyle youth player Alex Paguero Sosa, on Sunday July 6. He appeared in person at a preliminary hearing at Exeter Crown Court, having previously appeared by video link from jail. Dent was arrested earlier this month by police investigating the death of the 17-year-old in an incident at a taxi rank outside a night club near Kingsbridge Quay in the early hours of the morning. The hearing at Exeter Crown Court was heard in chambers.
