A man from Bovey Tracey was taken to hospital with suspected leg and hip injuries after being thrown off of a jet ski in the sea at Teignmouth.
It's believed the 28 year old man was driving the machine when he hit a wave or something in the water and was thrown off.
A passenger was also thrown off but sustained no injuries but was left 'surprised'.
The RNLI Teignmouth crew were called out just after 1.30pm today (Sunday) to the incident.
Paramedics assessed the man at the scene and took him to Torbay Hospital.
The rescue operation took just over an hour.
