Devon has been hotter than parts of Portugal and Spain over the last few days - but the Exeter based Met Office said today (Thursday) could see a major change with the weather
The South West has been basking in glorious sunshine with packed beaches across Devon and Cornwall.
The Met Office has issued a yellow - be aware - weather warning for thunderstorms in the Westcountry with possible flooding.
A Met Office spokesman said: "An unstable airmass across south west England on Thursday, in combination with high daytime temperatures, will bring the risk of some heavy thunderstorms during the afternoon and early evening.
"Hourly rainfall rates of 20 to 30mm in an hour are possible, and some of these thundery showers could also persist in a few spots for a number of hours, with a risk of surface water flooding."
The Met Office said most locations would miss the storms but warned they could cause flooding in areas that are hit.
